Meet Edmonton based indie-pop artist and songwriter Lenae. Think of her music like a Lana Del Rey meets Emeli Sandé lovechild. “Songwriting has always been a pathway for me to heal. I love making indie pop music that’s actually medicine! For me, that means mixing hooky melodies with lyrics that bring people deeper into themselves.” 

 

Recently funded by Canada Council for the Arts and FACTOR Canada, Lenae released her debut album ‘The Lovers’ in November 2022. The album was created with producer Jordan Sherman (Dylan Dunlap, Sam DeRosa) and artist development mentor Monique Benabou (The Voice, TedX).  The album covers her mental health journey - from reclaiming her voice, healing anxiety and depression, and empowering herself.

As a prolific and self-published songwriter, Lenae is currently working on writing her next album. After recently attending Canada’s Music Incubator Artist Entrepreneur Program in Toronto, Lenae is excited to continue to develop her artistry and share her powerful music into 2024 and beyond.
